This was originally a hand exercise and an excuse to draw a close up of a face, but I didn't want it to turn into another floating head and hands picture. I tinkered around with it and tried to make it into a real picture.
Silvan wound up in a fight, and his girlfriend, Mena, has wrapped up his knuckles. It's a tender, cute moment, but since it's Silvan, it also included insinuations of her dressing up as a nurse for him. Stay classy, Silvan. I'm fairly happy with how this one turned out, though I should probably touch up Mena's outfit. It's supposed to be a dirndl-style dress with a simple undershirt. Instead, the double neckline just looks confusing. The perspective on his arm is pretty screwy, as well, but it's a tough angle. I think the hand turned out okay, and I'm actually quite happy with her face. I had NO CLUE how I was going to draw a slightly upturned nose from the front, but I think it looks okay. |

The clothes aren't that confusing -- it's pretty clear to me how her outfit works. I would recommend always starting with an under-sketch or thumbnail though. For challenging camera angles or when drawing character interactions, I usually end up doing both
